To run reports, charts, and highlighting on a layout, click on the Show Sales Analysis button on the Pan/Zoom Mode tab.

The Pivot Grid will open.

First select the required report from the Report dropdown.
.png)
There are several reports available for selection. The report selected will determine the data fields available for inclusion in the report.
Sales Analysis (External) reports sales figures and other metrics (if data is available) at a planogram level based on time period.

Sales Analysis (External Summary) reports sales figures and other metrics at a planogram level for rolling summaries.
.png)
Sales Analysis (Imported) enables data to be imported from a spreadsheet. This could be used to import sales figures for non-planogrammed spaces. More information on importing this data is provided later in this guide.
Select the required view from the View dropdown.

The report will load automatically once the View is selected. A number of pre-defined views are provided with Retail Viewer M. It is also possible to create custom views – see the separate Reporting user guide video for more details.

To select the metric to highlight by, click the required column heading in the data area of the report (the data area is the cells which have a white background).

Select the entity to highlight by (spaces, zones or fixtures). Note that the relevant ID for the entity selected must be included as a row field in the report:

Note that not all reports contain data for all entities. For example, the Sales Analysis reports do not contain fixture details and therefore highlighting for sales analysis cannot be done by fixture.
Next select the Colour Mode: Heat Map or Range Bands.
For Heat Map, the minimum value is assigned to one colour and the maximum value is assigned to a second colour and a colour between these two is used.
.png)
In this example, values nearer to zero would have blue shades and as values increase, the highlight will become purple and then red as values approach 500.
For Range Bands, ranges of values are assigned to specific colours.
.png)
In this example, a value of 5,000 would be coloured black, a value of 8,500 would be coloured purple.
The colours to use can be defined by clicking the Colour Profiles button .
.png)
Select the required colours from the dropdowns and enter Min & Max and From & To values by overtyping the existing values. Additional range bands can be added by clicking or bands can be removed by clicking . The values can also be automatically populated using the values from a column in the report. Select the required column of data by clicking the column heading in the data area then click in the Colour Profiles window to set the Min & Max and to set the From & To values.
Click Save to save the colour profile.
.png)
Select to either Overwrite the existing profile or Save As a new profile. Creating new profiles enables multiple profiles to be available in the system to highlight in different ways.
When highlighting the layout, the colour profile to use can be selected from the drop down.

Other options available when highlighting are:
.png)
Update Heatmap Min-Max: If a colour mode of heat map is selected, the min and max values will be determined from the data selected for highlighting rather than the min and max from the colour profile being used.
Show Values: The data values will be displayed on the highlight.
Clear Previous Highlights: Having highlighted the layout, unticking this box means those highlights will still show if a different metric is then selected to highlight by. This enables layouts to be highlighted by a combination of space and zone for example.
Show Transparent: This will highlight the entities in a muted colour tone so items underneath the highlight are visible, for example, labels.
Once all options have been selected, click to highlight the layout in 3D
.png)
Or click to highlight the top down view of the layout.

In this example, the Sales Analysis (External Summary) report has been used. This enables the identification of hot spots and cold spots in the store to show areas performing well and areas that are not performing so well.
