Floor Plan Lifecycle

The floor plan lifecycle will normally begin with a Current plan for a store. When it is time to make changes, a new version of the plan can be created. The new version will have a status of Draft. To create a new version of a plan, click the Copy Layout button.

When finished updating a Draft floor plan, you can promote it to Awaiting Approval during the Save process.

The approver can then approve the plan and move it to the next status. If the force workflow setting is on, the statuses follow a set order:

Draft

Awaiting Approval

In Progress (Micro)

Approved (Micro)

Approved (Macro)

Current

Historic

At any point, the status can be set to Rejected which then allows the layout to be returned to a Draft status and edited. The status can also be set to Deleted.

If the force workflow setting is off, the layout can be set to any of these statuses and does not have to follow the set order. Under this setting, additional statuses of No Further Action Required and Removed From System (meaning the layout is no longer required but remains visible in the layouts list) are available.

See the Retail Viewer M Settings User Guide for details on changing the force workflow setting.
