When created, users are assigned to all categories. To assign a user to a particular category or categories, click on the .png) icon next to the user name. This will display the category hierarchy.

Tick the categories to which the user should be assigned. The assignment is dynamic so if new categories are added under a node to which the user is assigned, they will automatically be assigned to the new categories.
Click Save once complete.
Note that if no boxes are ticked, the user will have access to all categories.
