Zone Hierarchy Editor

In a similar way to fixtures, zones are arranged into a hierarchy to group those with similar characteristics together and to make zones easier to find when placing them. The hierarchy is managed in the Zone Hierarchy Editor.

Two hierarchies can be managed here: the Trait Hierarchy and the Zone Group Hierarchy.

Trait Types are the top level of the Trait Hierarchy. Traits would be the level below.

To add Trait Types or Traits to the hierarchy, right click on the appropriate level and select Create Trait Type or Create Trait.

To create a new Trait under one of the Trait Types, right click on a Trait Type and select Create Trait.

Right clicking on a Trait Type or a Trait and selecting Set Default Trait (Type) will set these as the default options which display when selecting fixtures to place in a layout.

On the Zone Group Hierarchy page you can create groups of zones under each trait and create zones under each group.

To create a Fixture Group select the Trait Type and Trait under which the group should be created. Right click on the Fixture Groups level and select Create Group.

Once created, click on the group to define a colour for that group. This is the colour that will be used when highlighting by zone group in the layout.

Once the Zone Group has been created, you can create Zones underneath. Right click on the Zone Group and choose Add Zone.

Enter a Code, Description, assign Colours for the zone and text, and, if needed, enter Minimum and Maximum Area values and Notes.

The Zone will now appear under the Zone Group in the hierarchy.
