Fixture Hierarchy Editor

Two hierarchies can be managed here: the Trait Hierarchy and the Fixture Group Hierarchy.

Trait Types are the top level of the Trait Hierarchy. Traits are the level below. For example, a Trait Type could be a fixture vendor, and the Trait could be functional categories such as In Store or Building.

The purpose of the Trait Hierarchy is to make fixtures easier to find when placing them. To add Trait Types to the hierarchy, right click on the Trait Types heading and select Create Trait Type.

To create a new Trait under one of the Trait Types, right click on a Trait Type and select Create Trait.

Right clicking on a Trait Type or a Trait and selecting Set Default Trait (Type) will set these as the default options which display when selecting fixtures to place in a layout.

On the Fixture Group Hierarchy page you can create groups of fixtures under each trait and assign fixtures to the groups.

To create a Fixture Group, select the Trait Type and Trait under which the group should be created. Right click on the Fixture Groups heading and select Create Group.

To assign fixtures to a group, drag and drop the fixture to the required group. Ensure the red cross changes to a green tick before dropping into the group.

Or click on the group and on the fixture (or fixtures – hold CTRL to select multiple fixtures) and click the arrow  in the centre.

Note:  Fixtures can be placed in multiple groups if each group is under a different trait. For example, you might have different store profiles with fixtures that are in more than one profile.

Use to unassign fixtures from groups.
