Automations are configured in the Settings. To access Settings, click the cog icon on the nav bar and select Settings.

From the main menu, select Automation.

This screen shows any existing Automations which have been configured.
To create a new Automation, click Add Automation.

Complete the General Settings panel.

Depending on the Trigger selected, additional configuration options may be available.

Next select Conditions which should apply for this Automation. Depending on the Feature selected for the Trigger, the Conditions will be Stores, Categories, Attributes or a combination of these. If no Stores, Categories or Attributes are selected, all will be used.

Finally select the Action for this Trigger. Currently the only Action Type available is Send User Notification.

Now select the Delivery method.

Delivery methods are:
News Feed: Ticked by default. A notification will appear on the selected users’ Dashboards if the News Feed has been included on the Dashboard

Highlight List: The item to which the notification relates will be highlighted in the relevant list. Notification Highlighting must be turned on for the user profile in the Settings. See the Retail Viewer M Settings User Guide for more details.

Email: Sends an email to the selected users. Configuration to send external emails must first be completed in Retail Viewer M. See the Retail Viewer M Installation and Configuration Guide for more details.
For Email, the frequency with which the messages are sent can be defined on the Schedule tab.

Consideration should be given to how many notifications may be generated for this trigger and also how many other automations are active for these users before selecting a Delivery Mode of Immediate to avoid the selected users receiving too many messages.
Having configured the Delivery Method, now select which users this automation applies to and who will therefore receive the notifications.

Selections can be made from multiple tabs.
If a Delivery Mode of Email has been selected the email address held in Retail Viewer M against each user will be used.
Distribution Groups are configured in Settings within Retail Viewer M. See the section Distribution Groups in the Retail Viewer M Settings User Guide.
Once all options have been configured, click Save. The Automation now appears in the list of Automations.
